Brady Starts Enhancing Quality of Archival Footage of Missouri State University as Southwest Missouri State College

Big news! I recently started on…well, something rather different. Instead of another “retromercial” on ADLORD’s channel, this time I started enhancing the visual quality of some of the archival footage in color of Missouri State University in Springfield, Missouri, as Southwest Missouri State College, during the Vietnam War, from YouTube channel Missouri State University Libraries. I modified this video, as well as other archival footage of the university, with Adobe Premiere Pro in July 2020. I color-corrected and sharpened the footage, which has really helped it look much better than the original version. In fact, in the original version, the color looked rather faded to me, although not monochrome. I even cropped out the first two seconds of the original video, which starts with a flicker of the shot followed by a group of white circles running up the screen. However, I have not posted the modified versions of those videos yet, because I have yet to make some final decisions about the color-corrections. But I do promise to post them as soon as I can after exporting them from Premiere Pro.

Now, remember all that footage (except the “Housing promo”) appearing in my video “Southwest Missouri State College during the Vietnam War versus Missouri State University in 2020”? That was a project for Editing for Film & Television, a class I took at Missouri State University in the Spring 2020 semester. The purpose of this “Radio Edit,” as the professor called this particular assignment, was to display a comparison/contrast of the university as Southwest Missouri State College, during the Vietnam War, versus as Missouri State University in 2020.
