“Meditative Nature Center” Now Available on YouTube!

This short video, which I uploaded yesterday, is a follow-up to "My Autism, My History, My Happy Future," my documentary for Jon Mabee's Digital Filmmaking class in the Fall 2020 semester.  YouTube blocked "My Autism, My History, My Happy Future" from viewing anywhere, because it contains music whose copyright was claimed by Warner Music Group, which is why that video isn't on YouTube.  This video compiles the footage recorded at Springfield Conservation Nature Center in Springfield, Missouri, on October 4, 2020, for "My Autism, My History, My Happy Future".

Unfortunately, YouTube has blocked this video from viewing in Cuba, Syria, North Korea, and Iran.  That's because, yes, this video does contain a copyrighted song: "Even in the Shadows" by Enya.  Warner Music UK has claimed the copyright within that song.  I chose that song for the background because I felt that it sounded like the perfect song for the Nature Center.  After all, I have mentally associated it with a memory of walking around the Nature Center with my family one Saturday my senior year of high school, a few months after the release of Enya's "Dark Sky Island," the album that contains "Even in the Shadows".

Jason Marshall, my father, recorded the shots of me walking around the trails, but I myself recorded the shots of the parking lot and the traffic on James River Freeway seen from the trail.  The credits say that I also recorded part of this video on South Nature Center Way.  That's because South Nature Center Way is the road seen behind the end credits.  That's the road in Springfield that leads to the Nature Center, probably after which the road was named.

Now, the reason I chose to title this video "Meditative Nature Center" is because I began to enjoy meditating since attending a school friend's meditation sessions for his Senior Project in high school, and the Nature Center is one of the various places in the Southside of Springfield that I have pictured an experience at while meditating with Enya's music or, yes, one of The Honest Guys' guided meditations.  Yes, one of the two guided meditations played for this school friend's meditation sessions is from The Honest Guys: the original version of "Guided Meditation - Blissful Deep Relaxation".  It and the updated version from 2016 are among my all-time favorites of theirs.

The pair of fonts used for the titles are an inspiration by the typography used by CoxHealth, a local health organization based in Springfield, Missouri.  I have found their signature typography, as well as the locations of several of their buildings in the Southside of Springfield, to look uniquely beautiful, which is why I chose to use a pair of fonts very similar to those used by CoxHealth for the titles. I feel like those fonts actually make a perfect match with the Nature Center.  I chose this pair of fonts for the titles in "My Autism, My History, My Happy Future" for the same reason.

Additionally, I just added a new page to my website: "Other Videos I Edited," under the Parent Page "Audiovisual Media I Have Edited," which I recently renamed from "Media I Have Edited".  That page contains additional videos that I edited not for classes I took at Missouri State University, from where I graduated this December, that are also not old videos that I simply modified by enhancing their quality.  This video, as well as "Florida Meets the Gulf," are two of them.
