Old Commercial for Alexis Lichine Wine, Enhanced-Quality Now Available on YouTube!
Great news! As the end of the extra week of spring break I got from college has approached, so have I finally finished enhancing the quality of another old commercial, one that aired here in America a half century ago. And yes, I did download it from ADLORD on YouTube. The product being advertised is a brand of wine called Alexis Lichine, one that I doubt is marketed anymore.
I believe it premiered on television in 1969 and continued to air throughout the 1970s. ADLORD, as well as Vintage Fanatic, say in the respective titles of their videos of this particular advertisement that it aired in the 1960s. Except the year listed on the bottle at 0:16 is 1969, and YouTube channels Throwback and Weirdo Video say that it aired in the 1970s.
My modified version of this commercial, as well as the original version, is now available to view on the list of old videos of which I have enhanced the quality and on YouTube. You can also view them right here, if you desperately wish.
O, and one last thing. As you and your family are no doubt already aware, an extremely contagious disease called the Coronavirus (COVID-19) has hit the United States over the past month. That is the reason why so many places of businesses, in my native Missouri as well as nationwide, recently announced their respective decisions to either temporarily adjust their business hours or, for that matter, even temporarily close, to cope with this virus. Luckily for me, I not only, albeit already in my early 20s, remain unemployed; much of the work I’ve already done with Adobe software, I did at home! And, Missouri State University, the university of which I’m a student, has moved all the face-to-face classes there online for that same reason!
The Centers for Disease Control strongly recommends taking the following measures and others to protect you and your family from being infected by the Coronavirus:
- Wash your hands with soap and water often! Obviously! For a minimum of 20 seconds! I myself already wash my hands whenever I see the need to.
- Avoid touching any part of your face, especially your eyes, nose, and mouth, especially when your hands are not clean!
- Every time you cough or sneeze, cover your mouth and nose with a tissue or the interior of your elbow. And then dispose of your tissue into the trash at once.
- Avoid close contact with anyone who is sick. In fact, we have all been ordered to maintain “social distancing” in public. That is, it is not only rude to invade someone’s personal space under certain circumstances here in America, as well as in certain other countries such as England; at times like this it can be dangerous to your health and someone else’s.
- And obviously, if you are sick, by all means stay at home! Unless you need medical attention.
In addition, I have been a weekly volunteer at the Ronald McDonald House of the Ozarks since my first summer semester as a student of Ozarks Technical Community College (nearly three years ago), but I decided to take a hiatus from work there so that I might not be infected by that virus and get sick. All this time, I have basically been a volunteer janitor. The staff there asked me in an email if I would be interested in continuing to work there on a weekly basis, and announced they had begun to limit their volunteer program to only a few volunteers who remained comfortable enough to continue to work there. So I chose to play it safe for my good and that of my family.
